This Privacy Policy explains how we (“we”, “our”, or “Jonny Darling”) collect, use, and safeguard information when you visit our website, www.jonnydarling.ie, or make a booking through our third-party appointments platform. We are committed to maintaining your privacy and ensuring transparency about how your data is handled.

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Jonny Darling is the Data Controller of your personal data. If you have any questions, you can contact us at: rsvp@jonnydarling.ie

Website Analytics

We use Simple Analytics (provided by Simple Analytics BV, Netherlands) to track aggregate, non-personal usage statistics of our website. Simple Analytics is designed to measure website traffic in a privacy-friendly, GDPR-compliant manner.

To achieve this:

  • No cookies are placed on your device.
  • No personal data (including your IP address) is collected, stored, or processed.
  • No cross-site or cross-session tracking is conducted.
  • All data is processed and stored on secure servers located within the European Union.

We use the aggregate metrics provided by this service (such as page views, device types, and country of origin) solely to improve our website’s performance and user experience. Because no personal data is processed, this tracking does not require prior consent.

Hosting

This website and its core application services are hosted on cloud infrastructure provided by Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany). All data is stored on secure servers located within the European Union (Germany/Finland). We have entered into a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with Hetzner in accordance with Art. 28 of the GDPR to ensure that your personal data is handled securely, confidentially, and strictly according to our instructions.

Bookings and Payments

We use SumUp Booking (provided by SumUp Limited, Ireland) to manage and process appointment reservations. When you book an appointment, we collect personal data including your name, email address, telephone number, and the details of the service requested.

Legal Basis for Processing: We process this data because it is necessary to perform a contract with you (to schedule, manage, and confirm your appointments) and for our legitimate business interests (managing our calendar, invoicing, and preventing no-shows).

Data Processing: SumUp processes this data strictly as our Data Processor in accordance with a Data Processing Agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) and maintains high standards of data security. For payments processed during booking, SumUp’s secure, PCI-compliant payment infrastructure is utilised.

Third-Party Service Providers

To operate this website and manage your communications and bookings efficiently, we engage the following third-party service providers who may process personal data on our behalf:

  • XCloud: Used for managing our website’s infrastructure and WordPress application. XCloud acts as our data processor and has access to site data as required for management and backups.
  • Zoho (EU): Used for managing our business email communications. Your email correspondence with us is processed and stored on Zoho’s secure servers within the EU.
  • Elastic Email: Used for the reliable delivery of transactional emails (such as booking confirmations or account notifications). Elastic Email processes the email addresses and message content necessary to facilitate these communications.

We have entered into Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with these providers. Where any service provider processes data outside of the European Economic Area (EEA), we ensure appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission) are in place to protect your data.

Your email address and phone number will be used by us solely to:

  • Confirm, reschedule, or manage your bookings.

We do not use your contact details for unsolicited marketing or newsletter campaigns without your explicit, opt-in consent.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes using SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmitted through our website and limiting access to personal data strictly to those who require it to run our services.

Data Retention

We keep your personal booking data only for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, or to satisfy legal, tax, or accounting requirements. Data handled via SumUp is stored securely on their platform and is subject to our deletion requests. We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with any third parties.
